How to Backup and Restore WhatsApp from Samsung

In recent days, more and more people tend to use WhatsApp. They use WhatsApp to make a phone call, to text with someone else, etc. Anyway, all because of its convenience, people keep a lot of important messages in it. Part1: Backup and Restore WhatsApp Messages with Samsung Device Local Backup
Now I am going to tell you a secret that in fact, WhatsApp backs up your latest data in Samsung local file in 2 pm everyday automatically and it is equipped with recovery feature. However, to ensure that your latest data are backed up in your local file, you can back up the data manually. Here are the steps.
First, launch WhatsApp and click on the menu on the right side of the top. Then find “Settings” and click it. Then you will see the “Chats” part, click it. Now click on “Chat backup” and hit the green button “BACK UP”. Now you can find your latest data in your local file.
Tips: Firstly, WhatsApp local backup file will only keep your data for 7 days so you may not be able to restore the messages that you deleted 7 days before. It will hard to restore your history data.
Secondly, You can find the local backup files in internal storage/WhatsApp/Database folder (or sd card/WhatsApp/Database folder)
Thirdly, it is quite difficult to transfer the data to your phone to another device.
However, there is still a way to restore the recent data in your WhatsApp.
Firstly, uninstall WhatsApp on Samsung and install it again.
Secondly, verify your account with your phone number.
Thirdly, click on “Restore” when you see the screen that shows “Restore backup”.And you will be required to restore from the local backup file.
Tips: To restore your Whatsapp to Samsung, find the internal storage/WhatsApp/Database folder and rename the backup file as msgstore.db.crypt12
Like I said before, WhatsApp local file will only backup your latest data in 7 days. So you may not be able to restore your data backed up 7 days before. And you can not transfer your data to another device.

You must be surprised that Google Drive is another way to backup and restore your data since the WhatsApp will read the Google Drive backup file to restore as well. And what’s more, you must be in relief when you lose your Samsung or when you want to transmit your messages to another Samsung. Because Google Drive may allow you to transfer your data to another device only if you make sure that you make the history data backup before you uninstall WhatsApp, which meets people’s need, and the local backup cannot make it.Now, I am going to show you how do the backup and restore WhatsApp messages to Google Drive.
To back up WhatsApp messages with Google Drive
First, launch WhatsApp and click on the menu on the right side of the top. Then find “Settings” and click it. Then you will see the “Chats” part, click it. And click on “Chat backup”. Now you will find “Google Drive Settings”.Click on “Account” and register your account. And of course, you can click on “Back up over” to choose “Wi-Fi only” or “Wi-Fi and cellular”. If you want to back up videos, tap the checkbox of “Include videos”. Now you can back up your WhatsApp data with Google Drive automatically.
To restore WhatsApp backup on Samsung from Google Drive
First, install WhatsApp on your Samsung and verify your phone number. Then, you will see the “Restore backup” screen and the messages restore from Google Drive. Just click on the green button and it will restore your messages.
Tips: It is a pity that if you restore your backup, it will make your current messages overwritten. So you had better restore your messages in your computer in case your messages get lost.
Part3: Backup and Restore WhatsApp Messages with one-Click
First, install Android Data Recovery in your computer and launch it.
Then click on “Backup&Restore” and connect your Samsung to the computer.
Afterwards, follow the steps to enable USB debugging which Android Data Recovery will show all the steps to you.
Now, not only “application data” can you choose to recover, but also you can choose other kinds of data. Tap “Next” and it will scan your files. When it finishes scanning your files, it will display your files again. Just choose the data you wanna recover and click “Recover”.
Tips: If you wanna recover the deleted files, choose “Display deleted files” on the right side of the top.
